“Gilpin family whisky” from designer James Gilpin is a whisky distillery but not a normal one. It produces “high-end single malt whisky for export” from the urine of diabetic people. For this project he used the urine of his diabetic grandma. A very clever and radical approach on the closed-loop and recycling. It reminds me of the astronauts that recycle their urine to drink it again. Maybe now they can make their own whisky too!
